ROBINSONS Estate Agents has just moved in to its prestigious new office at No1 Old Elvet, Durham City.

The company was founded by the Principal George Robinson in May 1995 and formerly occupied the quaint but slightly small office at 88 Elvet Bridge.

Due to continued success and progressive expansion, the firm needed to look for larger and more prominent premises.

Fortunately, during 2011, the corner site at No1 Old Elvet became available.

This was considered to be a perfect location as it was central, extremely prominent with undoubtedly the largest window display of any estate agent in the heart of the city centre.

The premises were a little tired to say the least. A massive renovation exercise was carried out, stripping the property back to the bare brick work and effectively starting again.

The ensuing result is a superb state-of-the-art office showroom which has quality illuminated window displays and a mass of space internally for any type of property display.

To complement the splendid office position is the quality staff who have a wealth of property experience between them.

The office has a 14-strong sales and lettings team, who have a combined property experience of more than 290 years.

One of the longest-serving members within Robinsons is Ann Finnigan, who has been a senior sales negotiator in the City for the whole of the 17 years Robinsons has been trading from 88 Elvet Bridge. In keeping with Robinson’s claim to be a family firm, Ann is working alongside Chelsea, her daughter who started as a trainee and is also part of the Durham sales team.

The office is managed by Keith Mason on the sales side and Steven Frampton on the lettings side.

We are delighted to announce to coincide with the opening of the new office that Robinsons has been proven to be the No1 selling agent in the Durham area (independent analysis from For Sale Sign Analysis dated 24th January – 1st February 2012)

So the No1 selling agent in Durham City is definitely in the No1 spot – at No1 Old Elvet, Durham City. George Robinson, the Principal, who was born locally in Brandon, and studied at Durham Johnston School, is proud of the new office and the improved property services he can now offer the residents in the Durham catchment area.

He said: “Since opening the new office, we have had so many compliments about the presentation and we are quite flattered that some of them have even come from competing estate agents.

“We are now privileged to offer every property service under one roof – sales, lettings and management, surveys, mortgages, fine and country sales, energy performance certificates, and now auctions with our association with the Great North Property Auction.

We are certainly looking forward to 17 years and beyond in our new home in the City centre.”
