AN X Factor star and a Eurovision Song Contest band are coming to Hartlepool in a packed entertainment line-up for autumn and winter.
Jonathan Ansell, who shot to fame with pop opera group G4 on the X Factor, performs at the Town Hall Theatre, in Raby Road, on Thursday, September 8, at 7.30pm.
Then on Friday, September 23, Eurovision favourites Scooch perform in a show called Scooch Do Glee from 7pm.
But they are only two of the highlights in a busy programme which also includes classical concerts, tribute bands, monthly meetings of a comedy club and dance school shows.
Michelle Daurat, Hartlepool Borough Council’s events and visitor service manager, said: “There is something for everyone. We have put on a really exciting and varied season which should appeal to different audiences.
“There is something for children and something for older people too who like to look at nostalgia.
“And then we have a play which should be useful for students and people who like the classics. We are putting on Macbeth which is on the syllabus.”
Themed events are also planned to mark Halloween and Christmas.
All tickets for the season are now on sale and the council is also hoping to launch an online ticket facility this autumn.
Anyone wanting more details, or wanting to book tickets, can contact Hartlepool Art Gallery and Tourist Information Centre, in Church Square (which is open between 10am and 4.30pm from Tuesdays to Saturdays) or ring (01429) 890000.
