FITNESS expert Andrea Douglas is a step away from national glory.
The Hartlepool-based instructor wants to land the title of the United Kingdom's top teaching superstar in the fitness industry.

The mother-of-two reckons it would be "a feather in the cap of the North East if I could bring the teaching superstar title back from Blackpool."

The best entrants from seven regions of the UK are competing in the event titled So You Think You Can Teach? organised by Fitness FX.

Andrea has already progressed through the early stages to be numbered among the top 15 best fitness teachers in the country.

She is now at the next phase which involves Britain's best competing for inclusion among the seven finalists.

The super seven will appear at the grand final at the International Fitness Showcase event in Blackpool next month.

Andrea added: "The competition is designed to showcase the full extent of an instructor's skills from choreographing an exercise from scratch, teaching it, plus everything in between."

She joined Springs in 2002 as a studio co-ordinator.
Anyone wanting to vote for her should visit www.fitness-fx.com/competition.
