No favours for Villa's old Boro boy Young

Former Middlesbrough full-back Luke Young should not expect any favours from his ex-team-mates when he takes on his old club at Villa Park tomorrow (KO 3pm), goalkeeper Ross Turnbull has warned.
Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill pulled off what many saw as an audacious transfer coup when he paid Boro £6million for Young just days before the start of the current season.

The transfer angered a lot of Boro fans, who thought the decision to allow an England full-back to leave displayed a lack of ambition.

The club, however, believed it was an excellent price for a 29-year-old who cost £2.5million just a year earlier when he arrived from relegated Charlton.

Young's replacement Justin Hoyte - who cost £3million from Arsenal - is expected to replace David Wheater at right-back from the start tomorrow.

Boro goalkeeper Turnbull explained there will be no time for sentiment with Young once the action is under way.

"It will be nice to see Luke again. I've got a feeling he will be sharing a joke with the lads," he said.

"He was a popular guy, and everybody got on well with him - so it will be pleasing to see him again. It was disappointing we couldn't keep him, but it was a good offer for him - as the manager has said before."

"When the time kick-off comes around at Villa Park, though, it will be business as usual."
