YOUNGSTERS are being blamed for a large bonfire that was set alight on a school field.
The bonfire, which was made with piled-up rubbish, had been created on the field of St Hild's School, in King Oswy Drive, Hartlepool.

Crews from Stranton Fire Station spent 10 minutes at the scene, which was on the Brancepath Walk side of the field, at around 5.30pm yesterday.

It is believed youngsters set it on fire before running off when firefighters arrived.
