A 14-YEAR-OLD boy has been arrested after a man suffered serious head injuries in a vicious street attack.
Police say the 29-year-old was badly hurt after the attack in the early hours of this morning.

The 14-year-old and a 44-year-old man have been arrested and are helping officers with their inquiries.

Officers were called to Jowitt Road, West View, Hartlepool, at 1.30am.

An ambulance rushed to the scene and took the victim to Stockton's University Hospital of North Tees.

His condition is described as "comfortable".

Detective Sergeant Lee Rukin said: "In the early hours of this morning a serious assault occurred that left the victim with severe head injuries.

"This was a bad, vicious attack in a street and we would be interested in speaking to anyone who saw something or knows something about this incident."
