Brewery tanks will help roll out more barrels

WORK has finally started on installing huge new storage tanks at a brewery.
Camerons Brewery, in Hartlepool, was due to see the new tanks delivered last weekend. But there was a fault on the crane that was planned to lift them into place.
The work took place yesterday to lift the 33ft-high vessels into place as part of a scheme to create eight new tanks at the brewery off the A689 Stranton Road in Hartlepool.
Three lanes of the road outside the brewery had to be closed while bosses manoeuvred the vessels into place.
The tanks, which arrived on a ship last month, will be capable of storing 350,000 pints of beer or lager. It will help boost the brewery's capacity from 375,000 barrels to 800,000 barrels.
The Camerons £4m expansion plans also involves the creation of 20 new jobs and has seen the derelict Dalton Lodge hotel taken over and reopened as the Windmill following a £1.5m refit.
