Burglars take valuable parrot

A VALUABLE pet parrot has been stolen after a home was targeted by burglars.

The female African Grey called Poppy, which can talk, is said to be worth £600.

It was stolen, along with its cage, during the break-in at a house in Serpentine Road, Hartlepool, between 8am and 12pm on yesterday.

The bird has bright red tail feathers, a white chest and black and grey beak.
