A TALENTED school choir has been chosen to join a chart-topping duo when they take to the stage as part of a national tour.
Singers aged 11 to 14 from the Northern School of Music will appear on stage with Journey South at Newcastle City Hall.

The Middlesbrough pair, who shot to fame after reaching the final of X Factor in 2005, are touring the country and the choir has been chosen to join them tomorrow.

The choir, made up of students who attend weekly singing lessons at the school, was selected after answering an advert for groups to apply.

The pupils will be showcasing their skills by singing a specially arranged version of Take That's Never Forget.

School principal Alyson Robinson said: "This will be a wonderful opportunity for our students.

"We have regular concerts and shows locally but this show will be on a much larger scale at such a prestigious venue.

"The children are really excited about performing on stage with a band as part of their national tour."
