A FINAL call has gone out for three classmates to make up a full house for a forthcoming reunion.
Irene Cannell (nee Boagey) is rounding up pupils who left Galley's Field School, in Hartlepool, in 1968 for a reunion that is taking place on Wednesday.

Irene featured in the Mail last month and described how she had managed to find all but a small number of her former classmates.

Since the appeal, Linda Dawes and Jean Gillyard came forward and that leaves just Barbara Nobbes, Christina Briggs and Roberta Hunter to find.
Irene, 55, is now issuing a last reminder that the 40th anniversary reunion will be taking place in a last-ditch hope that Barbara, Christina and Roberta may be able to go along.

The women who will be attending are Linda Mallabar, Joan Horsley, Glynis Freeman, Gillian Murray, Diane Leighton, Susan Webb, Susan Fawcett, Valerie Steel, Susan Crawford, Marilyn Sanderson, Nancy Bradley, Elaine Liddle, Janice Sutheran and Barbara Andrews (all their maiden names).

Also looking forward to the night are June Stewart, Jennifer Thompson, Christine Fletcher, Sandra Train, Carol Johnson, Pamela Collitt, Moira Forcer, Janet Mean, Christine Wrigley, Christine Penn, Sadie McLoud, Susan Fletcher, Elizabeth Naylor and Ann Kennedy who is flying in from Sweden (also their maiden names).

Irene, a mother-of-two from Friar Terrace, on Hartlepool's Headland, has arranged for town band Revival, which plays 60s, 70s and 80s music, to play at the reunion.

The retired factory worker said although she was still looking for the two friends, she had received a phone call from town artist George Colley, who recognised his mother, Muriel Guy, who was the girls' music teacher in their school photo that appeared with the previous article.

Irene, who is married to Gerry, added: "When we left school we all went separate ways and there were very few of us who kept in touch. You think you're all grown up.

"Some of the girls are coming from far and wide. It's really good of them to make the effort, especially Sadie, who runs care homes in Surrey. She said it was a big event and she couldn't miss it."

Anyone wanting to find out more about the reunion, which will take place at the Old Boy's Rugby Club, in Easington, Road from 7.30pm on Wednesday, should contact Irene on (01429) 270315.
