WHAT a fantastic new look.
That was the view of Mandy Andrews after becoming the first winner of our new Mail Makeover competition run in conjunction with hair salon Bombshell.

The mother-of-one spent two hours having her hair styled, conditioned and shaped into the fashion she wanted.

And after taking her first look at her new style, she said: "I am really pleased with it. I wouldn't look in the mirror while it was being done.

"The colour is lovely."

Mandy hits the Mail headlines today. We have revealed how she needs a kidney transplant after already having her heart and lungs replaced.
She was born with a congenital heart defect and has been in and out of hospital ever since she was born.

Now, though, she is waiting for another transplant which will change her life.

But she was given a welcome boost by the Mail and Bombshell by becoming our first makeover competition winner.

Each month, the Bombshell hair design salon will offer one lucky reader a fantastic new look.

Bombshell is based in The Arches, in Park Road, Hartlepool and its owner is Mark Wadrop.

He chatted to Mandy, 40, of Chaucer Road in the town, about the style she would love to have.

He told the Mail: "It is a slightly shorter style with a few low lights to build up the colour.

"It is something that is low maintenance and will perhaps need touching up every eight to 10 weeks."

Mandy's day of pampering ended with Mark presenting her with a package of home care treatments such as shampoos and conditioners.

And there was an extra prize. Her mum Doreen received a voucher for a free cut and blow dry because she was the person who nominated Mandy for the makeover.

Doreen's letter explained how Mandy remained cheerful despite her troubles. It also told how Mandy's young son Harry, aged seven, was helping to keep her happy.

Doreen added: "She still manages a smile for Harry and myself and I know she would love a makeover".

l Don't worry if you entered this month's competition and were unsuccessful.

All nominations for a makeover will carry over to the next competition.
And for those of you who have not entered the challenge yet, we still want to hear from more potential entrants.

To be in with a chance of winning, all you have to do is contact us and tell us why you deserve a makeover at Bombshell.

Perhaps you have had a run of bad luck or suffered an illness.

Perhaps you've been a Good Samaritan and deserve a reward as a result.

Or you may have a great story to tell us which makes you a worthy winner.

All we want you to do is contact us and we will do the rest.

We will sort through the entries we receive and choose one each month to win the makeover-to-remember.

Bombshell is offering a makeover worth between £95 and £120 each month.
So tell us your story.

And who knows. You could be the one looking a complete picture.
