YOUNGSTERS were blowing their own trumpets as they showed parents their musical skills in a brass band concert.
Pupils from West Park Primary School, in Coniscliffe Road, Hartlepool, have been working with Tees Valley Music Service to learn to play all sorts of brass instruments.
The Year 5 brass band has been going from strength to strength since it started last September.
Last week, the youngsters hit all the right notes during a performance for parents.
Headteacher Mark Parry said: "Tees Valley Music Service offered us lessons this last year and we thought it was a wonderful opportunity for the children, so we had all 55 playing a brass instrument this year.
"They had tuition from Tees Valley Music Service – I think about 20 sessions all together and they have got to a brilliant standard in the year."
Around 80 parents went to see the performance.
The lessons will be rolled out to the next Year 5 group come September while the Year 6s have the chance to continue their tuition.
