THE decision to close three Hartlepool post offices has sparked fears that others could now be axed.
Mayor Stuart Drummond and MP Iain Wright have expressed "disappointment" at the closure of the Raby Estate Post Office, in Chatham Road, Elwick Road Post Office, in Elwick Road, and Hart Post Office, in Hart.

Both politicians fear Post Office bosses ignored the views of thousands of people who fought a desperate battle to keep the branches open.
Around 5,000 people signed a
Mail petition to save the post offices but the three, along with one in Hutton Henry and two in Billingham, will close within two months.
Mayor Drummond said: "I am extremely disappointed. I have questions over the meaningfulness of the consultation period and how much our representations were listened to. It's a great pity it has come to this and I have grave concerns for the future of other branches."
Mr Wright is writing to Post Office network development manager Adrian Wales to ask him how much of the consultation information was considered.
He said: "I'm disappointed they don't seem to have taken any of that into account."
