A GENEROUS chef is raffling a voucher for a meal at a celebrity cook's top London restaurant.

Krimo Bouabda, who runs Krimo's and Portofino restaurants at Hartlepool Marina, won a £250 voucher for Gordon Ramsay's eateries in a recipe competition.

But instead of indulging himself, he is hoping to raise money for the NSPCC by raffling the prize he won by reaching the final of a M&G Seafood competition.

The town entrepreneur said: "It would be great to raise a big amount for the charity.

"We usually raise money for the NSPCC, and when I was given the voucher I thought it would be a great way to raise more by raffling it."

Mr Bouabda had travelled down to University College, in Birmingham, to take part in the seafood competition's final with five other top chefs.

"I entered my recipe for my fish tagine in the competition, and I was happy just to get to the final, even though I didn't win," said Mr Bouabda.

"It was a great experience and I hope it helps raise a lot of money."

To have a chance of winning the prize, go to one of Mr Bouabda's restaurants or Casa Del Mar on the marina, which is run by his son, Adam, and pay £1 for a strip of raffle tickets.

The raffle will be drawn in three weeks.
