A NIGHTCLUB reveller was cut above his eye after being struck in the face with a bottle.
The man, in his early 20s, was taken to the University Hospital of Hartlepool following the incident at Jax nightclub, in Stockton Street, Hartlepool, in the early hours of Monday.

Police say the incident was originally reported as a glassing but the bottle did not break and the victim received a small cut above his eye.

Detective Sergeant Mark Lennard, of Hartlepool Police, said: "There was an incident in Jax nightclub over the weekend. Somebody was hit with a bottle but the bottle hasn't broken.

"It came in as a report of a glassing but it turned out not to be as serious. The victim suffered a small cut above his eye and was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure."

A man, also in his early 20s, was arrested and bailed in connection with the incident, which happened at around 2am.

"The suspect was arrested at the scene by uniformed officers," said Det Sgt Lennard.
