A WORLD-FAMOUS designer is turning his hand to TV presenting in a bid to find Britain's next top model.
Scott Henshall is to front a new show called Kitchen Sink to Catwalk, which will see six women aged over 40 compete in a series of challenges such as catwalks and photo shoots.
The 34-year-old designer, whose parents, Nigel and Mavis, live in Dalton Piercy, on the outskirts of Hartlepool, said he cannot wait for the programme to air.
Scott, who is also writing a book about the fashion industry, said: "This is the first show that is looking specifically for models in their 40s and 50s.
"The show will help these women get to know who they really are by giving them their confidence back. It is their second chance if you like.
"There is a real mix of women on the show as they all come from different cultures so it is great fun to watch."
The group of six women will live in the same London house while they battle it out for the title.
The winner gets a one-year contract with top modelling agency Models One and the chance to feature in an eight-page spread in She magazine.
The York-born designer, who divides his time between Dalton Piercy and London, has dressed celebrities such as Victoria Beckham, Paris Hilton, Caprice and Jodie Kidd, but he is looking forward to his latest challenge.
Scott, whose gowns have graced the catwalks of Milan, Paris and New York, said: "The chance to present the show came about through talking to a number of television producers.
"I am really excited about the project as I think it shows a very different, caring side to me.
"We are getting ready for the second series at the moment and I am also in the process of writing a fashion book, which will lift the lid on the fashion industry."
The designer hit national headlines in 2004 when he created a £5m diamond cobweb dress for Irish singer Samantha Mumba to wear to the Spiderman 2 premiere.
He went on to appear on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.
Kitchen Sink to Catwalk, which is made by the producers of Britain's Next Top Model, airs on the Biography Channel on Tuesday, February 16, at 9pm for six weeks.
