POLISH people have been invited to enjoy a free meal and a chat about living in England.
East Durham Migrants' Residents Group is hosting a free luncheon tomorrow at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, in South Terrace, Horden.

The event, which starts at noon, has been organised to give residents the chance to find out about local services and meet up with other Polish people living in the area.

Guests at the lunch, which is being sponsored by District of Easington council, East Durham Local Strategic Partnership and Durham County Council, will be able to find out about issues including education, employment, housing, health and childcare.

Pauline Walker, social inclusion officer at District of Easington council, said: "Through our existing work with the Polish community we became aware that an informal get-together would be helpful in breaking down barriers.

"As well as giving our Polish residents the chance to meet new people and find out about local services, we hope to find out how such services can be improved to meet the specific needs of these new members of the community."
