Thieves in OAP gems raid

AN 80-YEAR-OLD woman had £1,000 worth of jewellery stolen from her home.
The thieves distracted the pensioner to enter her home in Brandon Close, Hartlepool, and steal the sentimental items on Wednesday.

A man and a woman were later arrested and questioned by police.

Both were due to appear at Hartlepool Magistrates' Court today charged with burglary.

A second man was charged with handling stolen goods and is also due to appear in court today.
