A WOMAN and a teenage girl were repeatedly kicked and punched in an unprovoked attack by a gang of ten girls in a quiet park.
Police say the victims, aged 20 and 14, were walking in Summerhill Park, Hartlepool, when they were approached by the gang who launched the savage early evening attack.

During the incident one of the victims suffered a broken nose and both were left with bruising to their bodies after they were set upon in the 100-acre country park off Catcote Road.

They both received treatment from their local doctors for their injuries.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "A group of approximately 10 females, all thought to be in their teens, approached the victims and in a totally unprovoked attack assaulted them by repeatedly punching and kicking them, causing injuries to both victims.

"Anyone who witnessed the attack or has any information about this incident should contact us."

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the attack that happened between 8pm and 9pm on Friday, April 18, to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Daniel Short at Hartlepool Police on (01642) 302126.
