IT might be close to freezing outside but it’s not stopping these hardy souls from doing a sponsored run.

And just to make it even more challenging, they will do it on Thursday night - dressed only in mankinis.

Organiser Rebecca Griffiths, 20, from Hartlepool, has even persuaded her own boyfriend Adam Ringwood, 20, to brave the elements.

She said: “He told me I was evil for thinking of this. I told him I hoped it snowed!”

Ten men have agreed to do the run which will raise money for Bradley Lowery, the two-year-old who is battling the cancer neuroblastoma.

The run will be part of a charity night at Changes bar in York Road. It starts at 7pm with the sponsored run due to get under way at 8pm.

The men will be asked to run from Changes to the bottom of Church Street and back.

Other events on the night will include a raffle with a three day stay in a caravan at Flamingoland as one of the main prizes. Other prizes include a football signed by players from Hartlepool United, and a signed Pools shirt.

Keyrings with a photograph of Bradley on will be on sale for £3. They also contain a message that it’s in support of the youngster.

The night’s entertainment will also include a DJ and a performance of Christmas Lullaby – the song which was specially created as a tribute to Bradley.

One woman will be having a head shave and two of the men will also endure a full body wax.

Admission to the evening’s events are free in the hope that more people will attend and give money to the fundraising cause.

Anyone who wants to back the charity fundraiser can contact Rebecca on 07582492098.
