TEN days and counting for a Hartlepool fundraising event with a canine twist.
Dog owners and their pets will be out in force on Saturday, June 29 from 10am. During more than two hours of fun, they will be taking part in the Dog’s Day Out event, organised jointly by officials at Hartlepool & District Hospice and Pets at Home.
The annual fundraiser is held at Summerhill country park, in Hartlepool. This year, it will include a sponsored walk, dog show, and a raffle. There will also be treat bags for all dogs, say the organisers.
Pets at Home are sponsoring the event for the third year running. Hospice events fundraiser Greg Hildreth said: “This is one of the most enjoyable events of our fundraising calendar and we are delighted to be working with Pets at Home again this year.
“They have really helped us get this event off the ground and provide great support on the day. Thanks also to Summerhill who have hosted the event since it began in 2010.”
The hospice, based in Wells Avenue, Hartlepool, is a registered charity offering specialist palliative care to people living with illnesses including cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder, Motor Neurone disease, end stage heart disease and Parkinson’s.
Registration for Dog’s Day Out is £5 per canine.
Packs can be obtained by calling Greg on (01429) 855529, emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by visiting the Hospice website at www.hartlepoolhospice.co.uk.
People can also register online for the event.
