A helping hand for charities

A HARTLEPOOL company is offering a helping hand to worthy causes which need that extra little cash boost.

Heating oil supplier, F Peart & Co, based in Baltic Street, has launched a charitable bursary and bosses are calling for nominations from across the town.

Company business manager Laura Jackson said: “As a long-standing regional business, made up of local employees, we have had the pleasure of meeting and supplying to people who are so generous with their time and support for all manner of causes, as well as those who keep the region’s sporting heritage going each weekend.

“This bursary is our way of extending our time and support to everyone in Hartlepool and keeping in touch with the communities we are a part of and work hard for.”

The company has supplied heating oil and diesel for more than 80 years and bosses now want to extend their support further.

Laura added: “We do have criteria and ask that all nominations are made from local sources and are relevant to causes in Hartlepool. Plus, once the bursary is gone, it’s gone, so we suggest causes get their applications in early.”

Examples of worthy causes could include a sports team which has played in the same worn-out kit for years, or a parish building which needs “a bit of TLC” said Laura.
