SHIP’S bosses today revealed more details of a new monthly package of musical entertainment.
The Live at the Trinc programme is being launched on board HMS Trincomalee in Hartlepool with proceeds going towards the conservation and preservation of the historic ship.
The Mail was first to reveal news that the live gigs were to become monthly attractions and now ship’s bosses have announced the bands to appear each month until June.
l The Young’uns will appear on February 15 with tickets at £7.50.
l Mambo Jambo will perform on March 22 and tickets are £7.
l 2 Bob is the act lined up for April 26 with tickets at £5.
l Audiences can enjoy the sounds of Richard Grainger on May 31 for £5.50.
l And 2 Bob return on June 28 with tickets at £5.
Further into the future, Spanish four-piece folk and rock band Calm Down will perform in July, and Vin Garbutt has been lined up to star in next year’s programme.
Mr McKnight said he wanted to provide great live music to cater for public demand after the success of previous events.
Real ale, a wine bar and a light supper are also available and HMS Trincomalee Trust general manager David McKnight said: “We want to set a standard for quality music.”
In the coming months, a range of genres from World music to Caribbean and Latin American to Eastern bloc will be experienced on the ship which can take a capacity audience of around 85 people on the mess deck.
