A man is fighting for his life following a quad bike accident in East Durham

A man had to be placed in an induced coma following a quad bike accident.

The Great North Air Ambulance was called to Wheatley Hill at around 4pm today where a man in his 30s had fallen from a quad bike and sustained a head injury.

The patient was assessed on scene by the paramedic and doctor team before being placed in a medically induced coma.

He was transported to James Cook University Hospital in a critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
