A second arrest after bakery raid

A SECOND man has been arrested in connection with a knifepoint robbery at a newly-opened bakers.

A 41-year-old man has been quizzed by police following a raid at Greggs, on the roundabout at Easington Road and Powlett Road, in Hartlepool.

As reported in the Hartlepool Mail on Saturday, police were called following the incident and a 24-year-old man was arrested.

It came after reports that a man entered the store brandishing a knife, demanding staff open the till and hand over money, before fleeing the shop with a small quantity of cash.

Now both suspects have been bailed pending further inquiries, following the incident, which happened around 3.10pm on Friday.
