Activities for all at Summerhill

A POPULAR country park is to host a packed programme of events for all the family over the school holidays.

Summerhill is a 100-acre site run by Hartlepool Borough Council based off Catcote Road, in the town.

Staff there have organised a raft of fun activities for all the family over the six-week summer holidays.

There will be the venue for a range of activities, including minibeast hunts, archery, den building, boulder climbing, arts and crafts, indoor climbing, cup cake decorating and a session on the high ropes course.

Activities over the next 10-days include:

Tuesday, July 29 between 1pm and 3pm - Minibeasts and Water Monsters. Join the safari looking for the wild creatures of Summerhill. For ages between four and 10.

Wednesday, July 30 between 11am and 3pm - Storybook trail - The Gruffalo. Games and activities on the trail to look for a Gruffalo. Bring a packed lunch. Ages three plus. Pushchair accessible, but rough ground in places.

Thursday, July 31 between 1pm and 3pm - Bouldering for Beginners. If people have tried the indoor climbing wall they can come along and improve their skills on the boulder park.
