YOUNGSTERS can prolong their Christmas celebrations as a village hosts its annual party.

Elwick Village’s WI Hall will be awash with festive decorations as youngsters enjoy a host of crafts, activities, a disco and games.

Santa will also be making a special guest appearance at the party, which takes place on Thursday, December 29 from 2pm-4pm.

Youngsters from Elwick Village or Dalton Piercy can take part in the festivities but parents must register their children beforehand.

The event, which is free of charge, is organised by the Elwick Millennium Association.

Maxine Coss, chairman of the EMA, said: “We organised this event last year and it was a huge success, we had about 50 children there.

“All of them really enjoyed themselves and we are hoping this year will prove just as popular.

“It promises to be a really good afternoon, there is plenty going on and it’s brilliant to have Santa coming along as well.

“We do urge parents to get their children signed up as soon as possible.”

Parents must register their children for the party by next Tuesday, December 20.

Registration takes place in the Elwick Village Post Office.

Meanwhile, residents are set to get into the Christmas spirit by enjoying a village sing-a-long.

Elwick residents will be going around the village singing Christmas carols on Thursday, December 22.

All of the money raised during the carol singing will go to the Salvation Army.

Residents should meet at 6.30pm outside the post office.
