Appeal after collision

A CYCLIST needed hospital treatment for a fractured collar one, elbow and wrist after being involved in a collision with a car.

Police have appealed for anyone who saw the incident on the A689 westbound carriageway at the first roundabout into the Wynyard estate, on the outskirts of Hartlepool, to get in touch.

The collision, which happened at around 7.30pm on Thursday, involved a Toyota Yaris and a male cyclist.

The 64-year-old cyclist suffered a fractured collar bone, elbow and wrist in the incident and was taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, and detained for treatment.
