Appeal after stone attack on bus

POLICE say bus passengers were lucky to avoid injury when a window was cracked by a stone-throwing yob.

The bus was targeted with the missile as it travelled along Middlegate towards Northgate, on Hartlepool’s Headland.

Officers are now appealing for help in catching the person responsible for the mindless act that took place shortly before 7.30pm on Wednesday, March 23.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “The stone left a large crack in the window of the bus, and luckily nobody was hurt.”

Any witnesses, or anyone with information is asked to contact PC Hollie Smaldon, of Hartlepool Police, on (01642) 302178 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
