POLICE investigating the theft of two custom-built bikes are appealing for information.

Burglars broke into a property in Aldbrough St John, near Richmond, North Yorkshire, took the car keys and stole a Mercedes VITO van from the driveway.

The vehicle has since been recovered, but two custom-built bikes worth £5,000, which were inside the van, were stolen.

Police believe the cycles may be in the Trimdon area and they are appealing to anyone who may have been offered them for sale, or knows of their whereabouts.

The bikes (pictured below) are both IBIS Hakkalugi Cyclocross models and one green with deep section carbon wheels, cyclocross tyres, XTR pedals, specialist additions including handlebars, and seat pad.

The other, which is black-coloured was the same specification, but has zip 303 wheels deep section carbon with FMB tubular tyres which are hand built.
