Appeal to trace hit and run driver who left man with broken elbow and three vehicles damaged in Hartlepool

A motorist who knocked down a man leaving him with broken bones and then collided with three parked cars is being hunted by police.

The collisions happened on Wilson Street in Hartlepool at 6.30pm yesterday, when a blue Ford Mondeo was travelling from Mulgrave Road onto Wilson Street,

The Mondeo was in collided with a 42-year-old man, who was taken to the One Life Hospital in the town, where he was treated for a fractured left elbow and was later released.

The car also collided with three parked cars, a Volkswagen Golf, a Ford Transit van and a Ford Focus.

The driver of the Ford Mondeo did not stop at the scene.

Police would like to trace the driver of the Ford Mondeo and would urge them to come forward.

Anyone else who may have witnessed the collision or may know who the identity of the driver, is asked to contact Pc Tina Lackenby from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting event number 147935.
