ART enthusiasts are encouraged not to miss out on a display of paintings and pictures by a talented group.

Stranton Art Group is showcasing some of its members’ best work at Hartlepool Central Library, in York Road.

Around 20 pieces of art covering a variety of themes can be viewed in the exhibition.

Stranton Art Group member Chris Eddowes said: “The members were pleased with how the exhibition looked when it was all set up.

“We try to have an exhibition about once a year. It is more as an encouragement for people to see what they can do and come and join us if they want to.

“We are a self-help group. We have people who work in different mediums such as water colour, pencil, acrylic and pastel and we all learn from each other.”

Stranton Art Group meets every Thursday, from 7pm-9pm, at Stranton Community Centre, attached to Stranton Primary School, in Southburn Terrace, Hartlepool.

The exhibition runs at the library on York Road, Hartlepool, until Saturday.
