A CONSTRUCTION firm has won an award for its work on a £53 million college build.

Miller Construction collected a silver Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) accolade for its work on the new Hartlepool College of Further Education in Stockton Street.

Considerate Constructors is a national initiative which aims to improve the image of the construction industry by encouraging best practice beyond what is required by law.

Chris Webster, chief executive of Miller Construction said: “Receiving CCS awards demonstrates the dedication and professionalism of our site teams to consistently promote good practice where we work.”

The new Hartlepool College of FE opened its doors last August after two years building work.

It was designed to be more spacious, brighter, greener, and advanced than the previous building next to it which is currently being demolished.
