A BUILDING firm has told of its delight to be backing a competition that recognises Hartlepool’s unsung heroes.

Town building firm Seneca Homes builds “inspiring and quality affordable homes” throughout the Tees and Durham areas.

Bosses have urged people to enter this year’s competition and make sure the nominees get the praise they deserve for all their hard work.

Sales co-ordinator Faye Garthwaite, from Seneca Homes, said the company was proud to sponsor the Pride of Hartlepool Awards.

She added: “We acknowledge that there are so many unsung heroes who we or our family members will have turned to or needed at some point in our lives.

“We at Seneca Homes strongly believe as a company in exceptional customer care and we take pride in our product and the communities we build.”

Seneca is just one example of the top-class backing of our awards and of the excellent support we have received this year.

Also on board are Niramax, Specsavers, Gus Robinson Developments Ltd, Huntsman, and Housing Hartlepool.

What a line-up for a competition which has been a huge success already and looks set to continue in the same vein.

We have had more than 100 people put in nominations for their favourite causes but we still need more.

Ten categories up for grabs are Sporting Achievement; Community Group; Community Champion; Student of the Year; Fundraiser of the Year; Child of Courage; Local Hero; Green Champion; Emergency Services and Young Performer of the Year.

We are calling on our readers to nominate that special person or people who have done something that you believe deserves recognition.

It could be anyone from 999 heroes to community champions – help us celebrate those who have done their town proud.

You have until early March to put forward your favourites and we want to make this a record year for entry numbers – but the only way we can do that is with your help.

So come on. Fill in the nomination form below or visit www.hartlepool.mail.co.uk and complete the online entry form.

That way, you can ensure that the people who make Hartlepool proud are the ones who get the praise they deserve.
