A HARTLEPOOL-BORN entrepreneur, who runs a dance and fitness company, has opened a new studio.
Nouveau Dance & Fitness has unveiled its new premises in Peterlee town centre, and the person behind it all is Bethany Ainsley, 28.
Bethany first founded the firm as a community interest company. It offers fitness and dance classes across Hartlepool and County Durham, including in areas with some of the highest levels of social and economic deprivation in the country.
The latest milestone for Nouveau was the opening of the new studio, and Bethany said: “We are going to be offering a vast range of dance and fitness classes for children and adults – many of which you would generally have to travel quite far to access, including adult street dance, break dance, tap, Pilates and more.”
The studio marks another achievement for the fast flourishing business which has only been going for five years.
Bethany said: “The last five years have flown by. We are now doing a lot of work in Hartlepool as well as in East Durham, Darlington and Stockton.”
Nouveau Dance & Fitness came about after Bethany realised there was a lack of innovative and affordable dance and fitness providers in the area.
NHS indicators also showed a high rate of physical and mental health problems within the region – with many of them being related to people being inactive.
However, this was said to be due to the cost of fitness regimes.
Nouveau Dance & Fitness has won a number of awards since it first started up.
Bethany is a past winner of the Future 50 Award, recognising her as being among one of the UK’s 50 brightest young social entrepreneurs.
She recently held an open day to mark her new East Durham studio, complete with break dancing, and a chance for people to find out more.
