KNITTING of biblical proportions is on display in a church.
More than 50 members and friends of St George’s Church, in York Road, Hartlepool, created 33 biblical scenes using needles and yarn.
Noah and his Arc, the birth of Jesus and the Crucifixion are all depicted in the wool that was knitted back in February 2008.
Since then, the exhibition has been on tour around the North-East, but is now back in Hartlepool to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the King James’s Bible.
The Reverend Val Towler said: “It’s something a bit different and we have found that it is an approachable way to introduce people to stories of the Christian faith.
“Children don’t learn these stories at school any more, so it is a good way for people to get to know them.”
The figures are on display from 10am to 3pm until tomorrow.
