A MAKE-UP artist and prop designer is hoping she has what it takes to win a very special set of keys.

Sherilyn Anjelika Oliphant, 21, from Greatham, has entered the Keys To Success competition which is run by the Hartlepool Mail in conjunction with UK Steel Enterprise - offering one lucky entrant the chance to win an office free for a year.

After receiving an excellent set of entries in the competition, we’re featuring some of the people who have already put their names in the hat.

It’s no indication of how anyone has done in the contest. That will come down to the judges when they meet in more than a month’s time.

But in the meantime, we’ve turned the spotlight on some of the great entries in Keys To Success - starting with Sherilyn’s firm Stand Out Interpretations.

The make-up artist, props designer and props maker has been running the company for four years and already has an impressive list of achievements.

She is just home from working on the theatre production of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Lou Stein.

She was recently employed by Duffel Films to make a “number of gruesome props as well as make-up for a Channel 4 production,” said the former St Joseph’s Primary School, English Martyrs School, and Cleveland College of Art and Design student.

But now she wants to develop her business further.

She said: “To make my next big leap I need my own space to work. Currently, I consistently have to travel from home.

“With my own space at the Innovation Centre in Hartlepool, I would be able to properly prepare and showcase my full range of skills to potential clients in a professional setting.”

One lucky entrepreneur is being given the chance to base their business in Hub Two at Hartlepool’s Innovation Centre, on the Queens Meadow Business Park, free for a year.

The winner can move straight into a 200 sq ft office, spacious enough to accommodate three people. It is already furnished with office desks, chairs and accessories and the lucky winner will pay no rent, rates, lighting or heating bills for 12 months.

All the facilities of the multi-million pound centre from well equipped meeting rooms, one of the highest broadband speeds in the region at 100 Mbps, 24 hour access, high security, free parking, a manned reception area, air conditioning, a fitness centre and landscaped grounds will be on tap for the new tenant.

We’re still open for more entries.
