The countdown has begun to the fantastic night when we honour the very best of Hartlepool’s health heroes.

The finale of this year’s Hartlepool Best of Health awards arrives tomorrow.

This year, we have had fantastic entries for causes ranging from carers to doctors, midwives to optometrists and hospital teams to GP surgeries.

It will see some truly deserving people picking up honours for their tireless work on the Hartlepool health scene.

As always, it promises to be a night of emotion. A night filled with inspiring stories of people who have made a difference to the public.

This year, we have had fantastic entries ranging from carers to doctors, midwives to optometrists and hospital teams to GP surgeries.

It was difficult enough for the judges to whittle down the field, never mind choose the winners for each category.

But eventually, a top-class line-up of 2015 champions were chosen and they will be announced tomorrow.

This year’s competition has been backed by North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, the Hartlepool and Stockton-on-Tees Clinical Commissioning Group, the Cleveland Fire Support Network and Seneca Homes.

The grand finals night will be held at the Hardwick Hall Hotel on Thursday, June 18.

We will be there to capture all of the emotion, reaction, cheers and tears on what promises to be a wonderful evening.

So make sure you follow it all on the night on Twitter - with the hashtag of #mailhealth - and at www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk, and the following day in the Hartlepool Mail.

And watch out too for a supplement filled with even more photographs and interviews in the Hartlepool Mail on June 24.
