MEMBERS of a school choir are celebrating after winning a prestigious trophy at a music festival.
Teenagers from High Tunstall College of Science, in Elwick Road, Hartlepool, stormed the heats to compete in the finals of the Hartlepool Music Festival.
Proudly wearing their school uniforms, the choir gave the final performance of the evening, singing Seasons of Love and She Will Be Loved/Apologise.
There were several choirs and groups performing, alongside solo performers, and after a long deliberation, it was announced that the High Tunstall College of Science had won the trophy for specialist vocal performance.
Hannah Rutter, choir director, said: “Our vocal group have been in the finals for the past two years but this is the first time that the choir has made it to the final.
“I’m very proud of their win and they have all worked extremely hard for this.
“Many were also in the sell-out production of Grease so they’ve had a busy term.”
