Tireless charity workers brought some cheer to poorly children – and it was all thanks to members of North East motorbike clubs.

Teams of people from the Hartlepool cause Miles for Men collected almost 500 Easter eggs which were donated to them by bikers at a rally.

Rally organiser Tony Hudspith left Miles for Men founder Michael Day, and the charity’s promotions manager Kevin Hill “blown away” by the sheer size of the donation from his mmbers.

Kevin said: “A massive thank you to tony and his friends for so much generosity.”

On top of that, the motor cyclists also collected £300 to be donated to Miles for Men.

The donated eggs were handed out to children in hospitals across the region, as well as to other worthy causes in Hartlepool.

Among Miles for Men’s forthcoming events are the annual 5k run and the 5k Walk for Women on Sunday, July 31.

Entry is £10 for adults, £7.50 for those aged six to 17, £5 for those aged five and under, and the events are free for anyone aged 65 and over. All entrants get a T-shirt and medal.
