A priest got all revved up to celebrate a milestone anniversary.

Father Nick Jennings, of John Vianney RC Church in Hartlepool, celebrated his 25th anniversary of his calling to the clergy.

His parishioners packed out their church for a special mass and then a celebratory meal/evening in The Borough Hall.

The Father is also a keen and well-respected member of the Boundary 500 Motorcycle Group, where his on-line site name is Rev Rev.

Around 20 of the members turned up at the church forecourt during the mass to form a surprise “guard of Honour type corridor” for the Father to traverse outside his church door.

They then escorted him with a cavalcade of motorcycles from the church in King Oswy to the reception in the Borough Hall.

Boundary 500 member Keith Fisher, also known from his campaigning with Hartlepool’s Save Our Hospital campaign, said: “The whole event, which was attended by 200 to 300 people, reflected the respect in which the Father is held by everyone in his parish and in The Boundary 500 Group.”
