A woman has been airlifted to hospital after her car was left in a ditch following a collision with a motorbike.
The emergency services were called to Wynyard Road, between Thorpe Thewles and Wynyard Hall, just after 7.40am today following the crash between a Renault Scenic and a Honda motorbike.
The rider walked free from the wreckages with a suspected broken arm, but the woman who had been driving the car, who is aged between 19 and 30 and from Billingham, is believed to have sustained an injury to her lower back and pelvis.
She was stabilised at the scene by the North East Ambulance Service and a crew from the Great North Air Ambulance and airlifted to the James Cook University Hospital.
Her injuries are said to be serious.
