A BISHOP delighted school pupils and staff when he officially opened a recently-completed new entrance.

Bishop Seamus Cunningham paid a visit to St Michael’s RC School in Billingham and spent most of the day with the students and staff.

Bishop Seamus formally opened the new entrance to St Michael’s which houses new office facilities, meeting rooms and first-aid facilities.

He will also formally re-dedicated the school chapel after being redecorated and a school technician built a new altar.

A school spokesman said: “The school is delighted that the Bishop was able to spend most of the day with the staff and students of St Michael’s.”
