A HARTLEPOOL blues band will compete in the North East heat of a competition to play in a Canadian festival.
Town group the Sugar Bs have been chosen as one of six blues from the region to compete in The New Brunswick Battle of the Blues.
Local blues bands will ho head to head in the regional heat, one of five nationally, at Redcar Blues Club on February 8.
The overall winner of the national competition will be flown out in September on an all-expenses paid trip to New Brunswick, Canada, to perform at the renowned Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival.
Sugar Bs member Tony Kramer said: “This is great news. Being picked to play in the competition heat with some real local talent is a great opportunity, but to be flown out to New Brunswick to play a major international festival would be just the best experience ever.”
The national finals will be held in London in March.
