SEA rescuers were called to help a boat which had broken down just off the coast of Hartlepool.
The 30ft private angling vessel, called The Lady Grace, suffered engine failure near to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) boathouse while on its way to the Marina.
Two men were on board the boat at the time of the incident at around 10.30am yesterday.
RNLI crews went to their aid and the boat’s engine was able to re-start, although at a limited pace It was escorted into the Marina lock by the life-saving crew by 11am.
A Coastguard spokesman, which organised the rescue, said: “The boat broke down but was able to get going again in a limited way.”
