FATHER Christmas took some time out from his busy schedule to raise cash for a worthy Hartlepool cause.
Charity champion Jim Croll raised £272.77 for the Autistic Rights Group Hartlepool (ARGH).
Jim, 66, who has raised thousands of pounds over the last decade by visiting dozens of community groups and organisations as Santa, raised the cash by visiting a string of people and organisations.
A total of £60.77 was raised at the Moorings Eaterie with the rest being raised during three home visits and four visits to nurseries and primary schools.
His fundraising campaign saw him visit St Helen’s Primary School’s Christmas party, Footprints Nursery, in Tees Street, and Eldon Grove Primary School.
Jim said: “The group only launched in November last year and they have nothing in terms of cash.
“I always help a charity which supports young people and that is exactly what ARGH does.
“To raise as much as I did was excellent especially in only a few days.
“If I was able to do it for seven or eight days I think I would have raised around £700. But unfortunately my legs might not have carried me for that long.
“I would like to thank everyone who supported me and to wish everyone a happy new year.”
His charity efforts were supported by Hartlepool Voluntary Development Agency.
