THE winner of a Hartlepool Mail competition will be moving into a business unit which ranks with the very best.
Simon Hamilton, the managing director of UK Steel Enterprise, has described Hub Two at the Innovation Centre in Hartlepool as green, modern and tailored to the needs of its modern day clients.
And as our competition got under way, Mr Hamilton explained why Hub Two was built in the first place.
“We wanted the building to be the very best - not only in terms of being ‘green’ but also to give tenants the best working environment from clean air and the kindest lighting to top quality furniture and fittings,” he said.
Businesses involved in everything from haulage, engineering, recruitment and energy to construction, website design and health are now based in Hub Two.
UK Steel Enterprise supports businesses with finance packages, ranging from a few thousand pounds to £750,000, and quality premises to help them create jobs and wealth in steel areas.
Since it started in 1975 UKSE has invested more than £17m in the Northern region (Tees Valley, Derwentside and West Cumbria), supporting around 1100 companies and investing a further £12m developing its modern, high quality Innovation Centres at Hartlepool and Redcar. More than 16,000 jobs have been created.
The aim of the competition is to give a business that has real potential to grow a special boost during 2014.
