A BABY boy had to be rescued by firefighters after locking himself in the bathroom.
The one-year-old had managed to turn the lock in the family home in Chillerton Way, Wingate.
A spokesman for Peterlee Fire Station said: “We used small tools to open the door.
“Both baby and mum were upset but quickly calmed down once they were reunited.”
The youngster was locked inside for 10 minutes before being freed at 10.15am on Sunday.
