YOUNG soccer starlets are celebrating after lifting some silverware following a stunning two-year unbeaten run.
Cotsford Juniors have won the Durham County Schools FA County Cup, having not conceded a goal since 2011.
The team, made up of Jamie Ellis, Connor Macleod, Josh Stradling, Sam Thubron, Calvin Lee, Callum Robinson and Luca Stephenson, lifted the trophy with three impressive performances in the final at Chester-le-Street.
The youngsters had to beat off competition from Castletown, Easington and Shincliffe to win the trophy.
A team spokesman for the side, based at the school, in Third Street, congratulated the boys on their impressive efforts, saying: “The boys’ have played some excellent football and managing to go through the whole competition without conceding a goal is a fantastic achievement.
“A big thank you must also go to the parents for their continued support.
“We are all very proud of their efforts and the performances they have put in over the last couple of seasons.”
