BREAKING NEWS: Appeal after cyclist injured in collision

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an early morning collision.

The collision involved a cyclist and a flatbed truck on the A179/A1086 roundabout, at the junction with West View Road, Hartlepool.

The 38-year-old male cyclist, from the Murton area, suffered a broken elbow and grazes in the collision and was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton.

Any witnesses to the collision, at 7.20am today, are asked to contact PC Bruce Thorpe, of Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit, on the non-emergency 101 number, quoting event number 053183.
